Pan De Sal is definitely a rarity in San Antonio. You can get 'em...it's just "hit or miss"(usually miss)...not as fresh as the "to-die-for" filipino bakeries back in Cali where you can get them hot and fresh out of the oven. The in-laws brought these in from San Diego (obviously packaged...but still fresh!). They aren't your usual dinner rolls. In fact, we actually like to have them for breakfast!
My family likes to eat it with Spam and fried egg in it (like a sandwich). I like them oven toasted and forksplit with butter!
